Welcome to SilverWood! Located in Prescott Arizona, We are a small, off grid, solar powered homestead in the Prescott National Forest. Our time is filled with chickens, dairy goats and our beloved Rex. Here, all of our rabbits are raised in an outside barn, accustom to the swift change in season that the high desert deals out. I believe in low maintenance animals, as they are the best for small family production. I've been raising rabbits since 2009.

In 2012, we moved to Prescott, where the rabbits began to truly support our family. I desire a rabbit that can feed my family with less time and feed invested. Fast growing, docile tempered with on point mom-ing skills is a must in my barn! We love the phrase "Breed the best, and eat the rest."
I began showing my Rex in 2015. Oh, what an adventure! I've learned so much! There is still so much to learn, and so many wonderful people to meet. I try to remain as active with local Rabbit fanciers as possible! We support ARBA with our membership and participating in sanctioned shows.
Our Rex are bred with the Standard of Perfection in mind (published by the American Rabbit Breeders Association). Our main goal is to achieve a commercial type rabbit that can grow fast and still have a a primed coat to go with the dressed out harvest. Reaching a fryer stage at 12-14 weeks (2-3#) and a roast stage at 16+ weeks (4-5#) has been our average.
I strive for richly colored furs and properly built animals. Type is my focus, with color coming in last. I also appreciate an animal with good maternal instincts and a sweet disposition.

Cooking can sometimes get tricky with lean meat like Rabbit. I have tricks and recipes that will keep you going back for seconds, with very minimal prep time in the kitchen.
